    SUPER BARCELONA

FC Barcelona’s trident is composed of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, and they have had a fantastic scoring season. Not the Brazilian’s mumps, nor the Argentine’s injuries, nor any rotations have affected their work. They hit 106 goals from the game against Sevilla, in the European Super Cup, to the second leg of the Champions League clash against Arsenal. However, from there, the team has gone into crisis – starting against Villarreal – and the trident have only scored four goals. The team has only won once – in the first leg against Atletico Madrid.
Messi was the most productive player for Barcelona until the game against Villarreal. He played 37 games and scored 37 goals. His average was a goal a game, and in minutes, one every 84.2. Suarez followed with 43 goals in the same number of games, with a goal every 90.6 minutes. Neymar had an average of 0.68 a game, 26 in 38 games – one every 131.3 minutes.
However, with the team’s slump, the MSN’s numbers have lurched the other way. Messi has been scoring 0.16 goals per game – one in 540 minutes. His goal against Valencia ended a sequence of four without scoring. It was his 500th professional goal, 450 for Barça and 50 for Argentina.
Suarez scored at 0.4 per game, a goal every 225 minutes, and Neymar has the same numbers as Messi. 0.16 per game in the last six, and a goal every 540 minutes. The numbers don’t do justice to the potential of these forwards.
They can still revert the situation. On the horizon there are five league games and the Copa del Rey final in play – a potential double at stake.
